Yes they are suitable, the best way to help improve circulation in your feet usingour foot warmers is to use the foot warmer for a set time (using the instruction manual),this should cause the blood to rush to your feet(to cool them down);when your feet feel nice and cosy place your feet in a bowl of cold water, this will then make the blood rush back to the rest of your organs, leaving your feet revitalized and oxygenated. Repeat this several times to give your feet and legs a blood circulation boost! There are lots of other simple things you can do to improve blood circulation in your feet, your Doctor is the best person to advise you on the medical side!
No, foot warmers are not recommended for people who suffer from Diabetes.
It is a well-known fact that Diabetes causes poor blood circulation, which can also lead to poor circulation in the feet and or nerve damage. Foot warmers help increase poor circulation in the feet but they are not recommended for diabetics because; Diabetics can experience foot nerve damage, which may prevent them from feeling any temperature changes. Stepping into a foot warmer without first feeling the temperature, is a diabetic foot care don't. Although foot warmers do not get hot enough to burn the skin, they are very safe to use and designed to switch off after 90 minutes of use. However if the foot warmer was effecting the skin in anyway, diabetics may not notice any skin irritation or feel the temperature of the foot warmer, for these reason they are not recommended. Sorry regular trips to the podiatrist should be the norm for diabetics. To keep feet nice and healthy, diabetics should steer clear of foot care heat pads unless they are recommended by your Doctor!
We have two foot warmers available, both are made in Europe, the Beurer Cosy Foot Warmer uses 100watts of power and the Beurer Foot Warmer with Shiatsu Massage uses just 20watts, so both foot warmers use less power than your average light bulb!
