Find out more about Heavy Duty Mole Claw Trap

Worms are the moles major foodstuff and each mole must find around 200 worms a day to survive. Moles can produce as many as 1.5 hills a day each hill containing roughly 5 litres of loose soil. Males and females live apart most of the year but in breeding season males will dig over large areas in search of a mate. Moles can create 20 meters of fresh tunnels every day. Moles are common to mainland Britain, particularly areas of permanent grassland such as private lawns and gardens, golf course, parks and playing fields. Moles have a highly developed sense of touch and hearing even though they have no external ear flaps. Their bodies are cylindrical, 12-16cm long from nose to tail and they weigh 70-110g. Each mole inhabits its own underground tunnel system covering an area of 400-2,000 square meters. The mole will patrol these tunnels vigorously on a regular cycle, searching out food such as earthworms and grubs for 4 hours and after eating rests for 3 hours at a time. The mole is most active just after sunrise and again just before sunset. Breeding season is from February to June each year and litters of young will leave the nest at 5 weeks old.

Stainless Steel spring and durable 4mm gauge galvanized trap-parts will ensure years of easy and reliable setting. The Claw Mole Trap is an effective catch-and-kill trap based upon a traditional design in use throughout the UK for most of the century
