Stiebel Eltron Instantaneous Water Heaters
The Stiebel Eltron DH series tankless water heaters are economical, ultra-compact, attractive, and well-built point-of-use water heaters designed for applications such as bathroom sinks, kitchens, commercial washrooms, emergency eyewash stations, etc.
Due to its small size, conveniently fits directly under the sink or adjacent cupboard or closet, so it delivers hot water to the sink almost instantly. By locating the heater right near the point-of-use, you can also eliminate thermal heat loss commonly associated with long pipe runs.
If the DH can supply all of the hot water needs for the room, in new construction applications, you also eliminate the need to run a hot water line all the way from the main central water heater which can save you significant money in plumbing and material cost.
Producing hot water on demand only as it is being used, it is extremely energy efficient. A sophisticated water flow sensor recognizes when hot water is being used and when it has been turned off, so the unit will activate and deactivate automatically so it only runs when you are actually using water. This eliminates standby thermal heat losses associated with traditional tank type water heaters.
Accordingly, you can expect to see a significant cost reduction over the operating cost of a conventional water heater.

Where is the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater manufactured?
Made in Germany.
Is this water heater suitable to supply a sink?
The DHC-E8-10 and DHC-E12 will supply enough hot water for a sink, expect flow rates in the region of >5.5 l/min ~ 6.7l/min, based on a water inlet temp of 6C ~ 14C. Water temperatures achieved with this water heater will be up to 48C.
If I use this water heater to supply two sinks will I achieve the same flow rates?
The 9.6kW water heater will supply 5.5 l/min and the 12kW will supply a minimum 6.7l/min. If two outlets are being used from the same water heater at the same time then the flow rates will be in effect halved.
Is this water heater suitable to supply a bath?
The DHC-E8-10 and DHC-E12 instant water heaters will NOT supply enough hot water quickly enough to fill a bath tub, expect flow rates in the region of >5.5 l/min. To supply a bath tub using an instant water heater you would need a three phase unit, please see the Stiebel-Eltron 3 phase instantaneous water heater.
Is the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater suitable to work with a solar heated water supply?
The DHC-E8-10 and DHC-E12 instant water heaters will NOT work in conjunction with preheated water from a solar heating system. The DHCE10 Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater is suitable for solar heated water supplies up to 55C.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater be installed under a cupboard? ?
Yes all Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heaters can be installed under or over.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater be installed upside down?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heaters must be installed the correct way up as described.
Is this water heater suitable to be used in a hair salon?
Yes both the DHC-E8-10 and DHC-E12 will supply enough hot water for rinsing or washing hair. The flow rates required for each basin in a salon will be 2ltrs a minute therefore the DHC8 will supply >1 basin comfortably and the DHC-E12 will supply 2 basins simultaneously.
I have a 13amp power supply will the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater be suitable?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater 9.5kW requires a 40 amp and the 12kW requires a 50amp independent power supply.
Can you fit a UK plug to the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heaters?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater must be installed by a competent electrician and for safety reasons they must be hard wired to a 40amp or 50amp independent power supply.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater be used to supply a shower?
Yes the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater can also be used in conjunction with a shower.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heaters be used with mixer taps or shower mixers?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater DHC-E8-10 and DHC-E12 are not suitable for mixer taps or shower mixer supplies. The DH range supplies your desired temperature so a mixer tap or shower mixer unit is not required.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heaters be used with sensor taps?
Yes the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater DHC-E8-10 and DHF12 are suitable for sensor taps however the taps must have spray head nozzles fitted.
Can the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heaters be used with open taps?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater DHC8 and DHC-E12 are not suitable for open taps, they should always be used in conjunction with spray head taps.
What size cable do I need for the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous Water Heater?
The 9.5 and 12kW requires 10mm2 cable (minimum).
I have very high water pressure will this affect the Stiebel-Eltron`s performance?
The Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater has an inbuilt water regulator so it will control fluctuating water pressures ranging from 0.6bar up to 6bar if you are unsure of your cold water supply pressure you can ask your water supplier to check this for you free of charge.
I dont have a mains water supply can I use the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater that is fed from a header tank?
No the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous requires mains pressure only with a minimum inlet pressure of 0.6bar.
I have a problem with lime scale will the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater be suitable?
The Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater is suitable for hard water areas.

What pipe fittings do I need for the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater?
The pipe fittings are standard UK 15mm (½ BSP) pipe fittings. We supply 2 x Brass fittings to enable a quick and easy installation.
I have limited space, can I have the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater fitted in a different room to my supply point?
We would recommend that the closer to the supply point the better however you can fit this water heater in an adjoining room or cupboard. We would recommend 2M away from the intended supply point with a maximum of 5m away.
Can I install the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous in an outbuilding that is not heated?
We do not recommend that the Stiebel-Eltron Instantaneous water heater is installed in a room where it may be subject to freezing.

Where the weight is over 20kg we reserve the right to charge more dependent on product type and delivery postcode, our customer service team will be in touch and inform you of any extra charges before we despatch.
Delivery Times

Next Working Day - these products will be delivered Next Working Day if ordered before 12.00, or in certain circumstances up until 4:00 pm. Please call if you require a Next Working Day and we will try our best to get it to you. Certain products will state within 48hrs, within 3 Days or within 5 days. These products will be delivered within the time stated. If you require delivery on a certain day please put this in the comments and we will aim to deliver on that day.
Certain products such as radiators are delivered after 5 working days, when purchasing a radiator please put in the desired delivery date which is 5 working days after ordering.
